Congratulations, we are pleased to inform Desmond Hunt is a winner of a 2014 Communitas Award for the nomination, Technology Reaches out in Category 1.5 Individual participation.
The Communitas Award is an international effort to recognize exceptional businesses, organizations and individuals that are unselfishly giving of themselves and their resources, and those that are changing how they do business to benefit their communities. Nominees will be evaluated on the extent and effectiveness of their efforts.
Our judges found that Desmond Hunt clearly exhibits the spirit of Communitas, a latin word that means people coming together for the good of the community. Desmond Hunt Joins the other winners recognized for specific programs involving volunteerism, philanthropy or ethical, sustainable business practices. Some businesses, organizations and individuals are also recognized as Leadership winners because to their excellence in multiple programs.
Throughout history, a defining human attribute has been a sense of communitas- people helping people for the benefit of their community. Today, communitas is thriving in businesses, organizations and individuals dedicated to community service and social responsibility.
Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) is an organization consisting of thousands of creative professionals from corporate communication departments, advertising agencies, public relations firms, design shops, production companies and free lancers. Each year, AMCP administers and judges the MarCom Awards, Hermes Creative Awards and AVA Digital Awards. Combined, they receive about 10,000 entries a year.
After each competition, entrants that exhibit generous and compassionate efforts on behalf of nonprofits are acknowledged through grants of at least $500 to the organizations that they help. Through the Communitas Awards, AMCP is now providing a means for recognition for all companies, organizations and individuals involved in the betterment of their communities.

The EMPixx Award competition was created by David E. Carter, a multiple Emmy® and Clio® winner with a long history of innovation for the creative world. It is sponsored by the American pixel Academy. The organization was founded by a coalition of professionals and educators in the field of pixel media.
The EMPixx Award The American Pixel Academy has the goal of connecting creative visual professionals in the pixel media with educators who are giving wings to the next generation of creative professionals. Entries are judged on a standard of excellence. Entries scoring 9.0 or higher on a 10 point scale qualify for the Platinum EMPixx Award. Those scoring 7.0 – 8.9 qualify for the Gold EMPIXX Award.
The EMPixx Awards recognizes outstanding work in five categories:

The AVA Award recognizes outstanding work by creative professionals involved in the concept, writing, direction, shooting, and editing of audio-visual material materials and programs. Entries include film, analog and digital productions viewed in a wide variety of mediums – from movie screens to televisions to computers. Entrants include video and film production companies, web developers, advertising agencies, PR firms, corporate and government communication departments, producers, directors, editors, and shooters.
The AVA Award judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. There were approximately 2,200 entries from throughout the United States and several foreign countries in the AVA Awards 2008 competition.
The AVA Gold Award is presented to those entries judged to exceed the high standards of the industry norm. Approximately 14 percent were Gold winners. Based on the evaluation of the Association of marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) judges.
The AVA Award is designed to pay tribute to the magnificent history of the audio-visual industry. The elegant woman holding the film reel aloft is a symbolic representation of the evolving craft. The statuette is created by the Entenmann-Rovin Company of Los Angeles, the same craftsmen that produce the Golden Globes. AVA stands 13 inches tall on a piano- finished, hardwood base and is personalized with the winner’s name and entry information.

Entries are judged by industry professional who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.
The Communicator’s prestigious Award of Excellence is presented to those entrants whose ability to communicate makes them the best in their field. Approximately 10% of the entries won this award. Award of Excellence winners are listed on the Communicator’s website at www.communicatorawards.com.
